DMX’s Voice Lives On Through Bieber’s Sunday Instagram Clip

Justin Bieber didn’t need to say a word. The 31-year-old singer reposted a video on Instagram on Sunday that has people talking about sobriety, drugs, and freedom yet again. The quick clip from the clip, which was originally shared on the account of Gassy, a marijuana dispensary in Los Angeles, was of a 2013 episode of Iyanla: Fix My Life. The particular clip shows the late rapper DMX having a conversation with life coach Iyanla Vanzant.

In the 30-second clip, Vanzant can be heard asking the rapper if he wanted to “live as a clean man.” “No weed, no drinking, nothing? Why would I?” he questioned. “If you can be a clear vessel, a pure vessel, so that you can hear the voice of God,” the life coach then added, to which DMX replied with: “I think I’m exactly where I need to be with God.”

Bieber did not include a caption with the video or any other kind of message. As such, some fans are wondering whether Bieber posted the video to make a statement about his own life or if he was simply reposting a video he felt applied to him. Whatever the case may be, coupled with the fact that he has made it no secret that he is Christian and the fact that the rapper is no longer alive, it has sparked quite a conversation on social media.

His Spiritual Side and Pushing Things Like Sobriety Aside

The truth is that Bieber has never been one to hide the fact that he is spiritual. For years now, he’s been quite vocal about his Christianity and being spiritual with his lifelong friend, Churchome pastor Judah Smith. It has also been a major part of why Bieber was able to turn things around in the eyes of the public as he transitioned from the boy singer to husband, family man, and father.

Last October, the singer and his wife, Hailey Bieber, welcomed their first child, Jack Blues Bieber. The Biebers have had a child for almost a year now, and according to reps, Bieber’s life has changed ever since. While some people have been worried about Bieber’s appearance and his well-being over the last few months because of some posts that showed him using bongs and smoking, his team has made it a point to shut down such rumors.

The rep for the singer told TMZ in February that, “The recurring narrative that Justin is using hard drugs is not true,” He went on to add that the singer is also “in one of the best places in his life,” which involves his family and new music while also breaking away from people and business relations that have long outstayed their welcome.

Of course, people can use bongs and smoke marijuana legally in California, which is where the Biebers live, so while fans might be questioning what’s going on with him based on the image of him with a bong, it’s not exactly illegal for the singer. It is something that many people in the public eye are currently having a different stance on when it comes to legality and what’s fit for their image and brand.

Justin Bieber’s New Album and Tour?

While fans are still mulling over Bieber’s latest post on Instagram, he dropped his seventh studio album, called Swag, on July 11. The album has been receiving rave reviews so far and was a big milestone for the singer. It includes many songs where he is both vulnerable, taking a look at his life, past, and the pressure of fame, but also poking fun at himself. There are interludes with internet personality Druski where the two have conversations in the style of comedic therapy sessions.

Bieber opens up to Druski and also questions some of his thoughts in a way that is sometimes serious and sometimes a joke. A few of the songs on the album also reference past transgressions that Bieber has made apologies for in the past, and also songs about his wife and fatherhood. It seems that the singer is using the new album as a means of going through the motions and his transition as a father and husband.

With a new album and the fact that it’s been out for about two months now, there is now speculation as to whether or not Bieber might be touring Australia, as fans are hopeful. It does not appear that he has confirmed anything, nor has Frontier Touring. The promoter stated when reached by Rolling Stone that they “have no information” about a potential Australian tour at the moment.

Fans are in limbo about a potential tour as Bieber did not complete the Justice World Tour in 2022 because of his health issues. It is safe to say that if Bieber does come back and tour, it will be seen as a comeback of sorts and a new chapter for the singer.

For now, it seems that Bieber is just staying in his lane of sorts, being the family man he is known to be, creating new music and putting in work that reflects who he is as an artist and as a person in the world. Whether he posted the DMX sobriety clip to make a statement about his spiritual self and freedom, both in a religious and personal sense, or not, it has gotten people talking.
